Repertory Philippines,or REP, shines the spotlight on brilliant women scientists in history through its upcoming production Silent Sky and takes a step further in women empowerment by partnering with Zonta International, a global organization advocating women’s rights through service and advocacy worldwide.
REP’s Artistic Director Joy Virata thought of partnering with Zonta International because of the organization’s mission to improve the status of women in all aspects of life including educational, health, economic, and professional. Having seen the staging of Silent Sky in Harvard, charter Zonta Alabang President Maymay Liechtenstein also believes the play is a powerful piece that inspires women to pursue their passion.
Premier theater company Repertory Philippines or REP is offering an array of summer workshops for all ages beginning April 17. The workshop will last for two hours each over the course of six weeks at Active Fun, 9th Street & High Street at Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.

Repertory Philippines, more popularly known as REP, celebrates its golden year by bringing back to the stage the gripping and thought-provoking drama, Agnes of God. This is also part of REP’s exciting 50th-year offerings.
Written by notable playwright John Pielmeier, Agnes of God was a long running hit on Broadway. It opened in 1982 and adapted into a film in 1985. The play explores the lives of three women and their own dark pasts. Their stories are interwoven into the mysterious case of the young nun Agnes. Agnes is accused of conceiving and killing her own baby in the convent.
January 25 was a memorable day as Mayor Reynaldo “Áldong” Parojinog celebrates brotherhood and camaraderie among his peers and the local tribe of Ozamiz in lieu with his birthday. Held at his farm, the birthday celebration was attended by members of various local government units, along with the mayors of the province of Misamis Occidental as spearheaded by Governor Herminia M. Ramiro. Everyone showed their support to Mayor Aldong’s endeavors. It was also a day of unity within the province.
The 3rd year Communication and Multimedia Arts students of Southville International School and Colleges invite you to join their theater stage workshop. Entitled “Exploring the Art of Performance,” this workshop includes exercises and activities to further improve your stage presence, acting skills, and confidence. None other than stage performer Tracy Santuyo will lead the acting workshop. Stage director and manager Tiffany Santuyo will also share valuable lessons to participants. Both are notable and highly applauded in their “Annie the musical” and “Once On This Island,” among other plays.
The event will be at the Luxembourg Hall of Southville International School and Colleges in Las Pinas. It is slated this Saturday, January 14 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. A registration fee of P600.00 includes food and drinks already.

Nippon Paint (Coatings) Philippines recently revealed the first winners of its prestigious design competition, Asia Young Designer Award (A.Y.D.A) during the awarding ceremony held at Edsa Shangri-La Hotel. Nippon Paint executives together with industry professionals, competition judges and guests attended the event to witness the gold winners of the Architecture and Interior Design category who will be representing the country in the regional grand competition slated early next year in Jogyakarta, Indonesia.
A.Y.D.A, formerly known as Nippon Paint Young Designer Award was re-launched this year to reflect its widening reach and its increasing significance to the design scene in Asia. From its debut with 87 entries solely from Malaysia, the competition has grown to collect over 3,500 entries from last year across 12 different countries, namely the Philippines, Singapore, Bangladesh, Thailand, Pakistan, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Vietnam, China, Japan, Hong Kong its place of origin Malaysia. This year, AYDA was extended to three additional countries, namely Sri Lanka, India, and Taiwan. The design tilt was first opened in the Philippines in 2014.
