January 25 was a memorable day as Mayor Reynaldo “Áldong” Parojinog celebrates brotherhood and camaraderie among his peers and the local tribe of Ozamiz in lieu with his birthday. Held at his farm, the birthday celebration was attended by members of various local government units, along with the mayors of the province of Misamis Occidental as spearheaded by Governor Herminia M. Ramiro. Everyone showed their support to Mayor Aldong’s endeavors. It was also a day of unity within the province.
Members of the local tribe of Subanen were also present at the birthday celebration. They showed their appreciation to all the kind mayor’s efforts in preserving the province’s cultural heritage. This is also one of the reasons that Ozamiz City got the Seal of Good Local Governance last 2016. To show appreciation and acceptance of the mayor, the present Subanen tribesmen conducted a small blessing and brotherhood ceremony over the mayor.
Food were shared by all, entertainment was also aplenty and well wishes were all that could be heard that day as people celebrated for Mayor Parojinog. The Parojinog family was ever present, showing love and support to the present patriarch. The whole event echoed unity of the whole city for their mayor and that of the province. It was not just a day for blood relations but also those related in spirit – the spirit of unity.
